QLD:Govts give $315m for Yasi, floods recovery
BRISBANE, Feb 26 - A new $315 million funding package is being handed to Queensland's
local councils to repair utilities and infrastructure damaged by Cyclone Yasi and January's
devastating floods.
The federal and Queensland governments are both contributing to the Queensland Local
Council Package, which will also provide employment support to help councils get back
on their feet as quickly as possible.
Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan and his state counterpart Andrew Fraser said the package
