Qld: Bomber surprised by poll showing

Brisbane sports broadcaster CHRIS BOMBOLAS says he's surprised by a poll showing he's
the red hot favourite to win back a seat for Labor at the state election.

Polls show Labor is poised to regain the seat of Chatsworth .. lost to Liberal MICHAEL
CALTABIANO in a by-election last August.

According to The Sunday Mail/TNS polling .. the two party preferred voting stands at
62 per cent for Labor .. and 38 per cent for the coalition.

Mr BOMBOLAS .. who recently took a redundancy as a Nine Network sports reporter ..

says his profile may have played a factor in the result .. but he's not relying on it
to win the seat.

And he says while his nickname of "Bomber" might not be politically correct given the
current international climate .. here at home it's quite harmless.
