Vic: Cat owner wants animal abuser to "rot in jail"
The owner of a cat which was sexually abused and set alight in Melbourne's south east
.. says she hopes whoever did it rots in jail.
KATE ARNOL from Berwick has told Southern Cross Radio she was forced to euthanase her
12 month-old white cat .. BULLET .. on Saturday.
A local vet tracked her down through the cat's microchip .. after the injured animal
was brought in.
RSPCA inspector GREG BOLAND says the incident's especially worrying .. because there's
evidence that those who inflict cruelty on animals often turn their violence towards humans.
And Mr BOLAND says the attack's come two days after a pet rabbit in the same suburb
was bludgeoned to death.
He says the RSPCA's working with Victoria Police to find who's responsible for both attacks.
Ms ARNOL says she hopes the offender's caught .. to make sure it doesn't happen to
any other animals.
Mr BOLAND says the person who attacked BULLET could face 12 months in prison or a 12-thousand
dollar fine.
