Fed: Terror arrests highlight need to remain vigilant, govt says

The federal government says the arrests of four men suspected of plotting a suicide
mission on Australian soil underlines the need for continuing vigilance against terrorism.

Assistant Treasurer NICK SHERRY has congratulated intelligence and federal and state
police agencies involved in a massive operation that culminated in early morning raids
across Victoria this morning.

Senator SHERRY has told Sky News he can't speculate on what charges might be pending
against the four Australian citizens .. but the operation shows the terror threat is still
there.

Opposition frontbencher STEVE CIOBO has told Sky News .. any naturalised Australian
citizen convicted of terrorism activity should be stripped of their citizenship rights.
